If The Annapolis Real Estate Market is Really So Bad, Then Why Are These Realtors So Hoppy?

8 Things You Won’t Hear About on the Evening News That Annapolis Area Homebuyers and Sellers Can Be Hoppy About

Fridays are for fun. I learned that from a fellow Realtor-blogger, Teresa Boardman, who always devotes her Friday posts to not-so-serious stuff. I think I’ll start doing the same.

For the benefit of those who haven’t met us, (and who, no doubt, will now never want to) this is a photo of myself and my wife/partner Bev, the Haedrich and Moss parts of The Moss Haedrich Team, Keller Williams Select Realtors, Annapolis. The other 4 members of our team - Kathy, Carol, Jeremiah and Nikki - suddenly had other things to do when we posed for this photo.

This was taken yesterday at a Easter Egg Hunt Broker Open House at 1006 Boucher Ave in Eastport, a gorgeous new-construction listing of ours. You wouldn’t be wrong if you suspect we had a little time on our hands. (There are still some un-found eggs there; stop by at our open house this Saturday, between 1-3, and you might find one.)

Contrary to the impression this photo may leave, we are a serious, well-established real estate team, with actual homebuyers and sellers who trust us to help them buy and sell homes. And we’re pretty good at it. Maybe we can help you, too. Call us.

Anyway, Hoppy Easter to you and yours. Here’s our list of 8 things homebuyers and home sellers in the Annapolis area can be hoppy about.

1. The Market is Not Bad. It’s just different from the red hot market of the past few years. Homes are selling in the Annapolis area, buyers are buying, but more slowly. Everyone is adjusting to the new rules of the game.

2. The Inventory Looks Good. It has to. There’s a lot of pressure on sellers to make their homes look as nice as possible, and get serious about repairs and updates.

3. Buyer Agents Have Time to Work With You. If you’re an Annapolis area homebuyer, you’ll get good, attentive service right now.

4. Interest Rates are Great. Fluctuating all over the place, but still historically good. Money is getting tighter. If you want to buy a home but have past credit issues, now is the time to start repairing your credit.

5. There Are Deals Out There. Sellers want to sell. Buyers are calling the shots now and getting great deals.

6. Sellers Are Getting Better Qualified Buyers Through. Anyone who is looking at your home now is probably a serious buyer. Buyer agents are taking care to make sure their clients are highly qualified.

7. Spring is Here. The springtime market is always one of the best. Fence sitters start jumping, relocating families get in gear, the nice weather motivates.

8. It’s a Great Time to Move Up. Even if you get less than your full asking price when you sell, the deal you get on a “move-up” property will - most likely - more than make up for any lost equity.

  4. Sometimes, Being in Real Estate in Annapolis is a Real Drain. A Clogged Drain

[…] we’ve even donned bunny ears to help sell a home. I can’t recall exactly why I thought wearing bunny ears would help. But […]
